Istinye University Department of Psychology was established in 2017. It gave its first graduates in 2021. It has a staff of expert faculty members who have completed their education at universities in Turkey and abroad. The education provided by visiting professors from different universities is diversified. It is the policy of the department to contribute to the professional development of students at the highest level and to equip their students with up-to-date information. The main objectives of our department are to provide students with up-to-date and evidence-based education in the field of psychology, to support theoretical knowledge with applications, and to gain professional skills. With Turkish and English psychology education options, students will have opportunities to improve themselves, and they will have the knowledge and skills required by the profession before they graduate. - The curriculum has been prepared on the basis of the Turkish Psychological Association Psychology Undergraduate Program Accreditation criteria. Thus, it meets all the requirements of a qualified Psychology Undergraduate education. Within the scope of the curriculum, students will have the opportunity to take compulsory courses, elective courses related to different sub-fields of psychology, and university elective courses related to language-based and/or different branches of science.
- Internship is not compulsory within the scope of the curriculum. However, all kinds of opportunities, especially the 25 years of experience and established system of Medical Park and Liv Hospital chains within İstinye University, will be evaluated and successful and enthusiastic students will be guided to find the opportunity to make voluntary observations in various institutions and organizations according to their interests.
- In addition, through the applied courses within the curriculum, it is aimed to provide graduates who have developed their ability to practice at the end of four years of undergraduate education and stand out among other psychology graduates with these skills. In this context, students will also have the opportunity to conduct scientific research and turn their research into publications.
