Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Early Childhood Education at TED University: $7000/year (Scholarship Available)
The early childhood education program works in close partnership with public elementary schools, independent public kindergarten programs, and TED Foundation schools in many locations in Turkey. The program provides the students with clinical practice opportunities in these schools. The students are supervised by the faculty members in the program, the coordinator of the faculty clinical practice, and the mentor teachers. In addition to the professional requirements component of the program, like in any other programs at TED University, students in the Early Childhood Education program are also required to complete 38 credit hours of university core-program courses. The core program courses are designed to give a comprehensive background evenly distributed among all disciplines: math, natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, humanities, fine arts, philosophy, literature, Turkish language, English, Principles of Atatürk and History of The Turkish Republic and information technology. The curriculum is also enriched by interdisciplinary studies, seminars, action research projects, capstone experiences, and use of multimedia-aided learning.
The small size of the early childhood education program is designated to enhance a sense of community among students, program faculty, and other professionals who are participating in this program. Teachers from a variety of early childhood settings will be involved in the teaching process and the design of field experiences, thereby fostering community among those inside and outside the university.
