Master of Science - Materials Science & Nanotechnology (Thesis) at Kadir HAS University: Tuition: $15,000 USD/Year (Scholarship Available)
Students who successfully complete the Materials Science and Nanotechnology program started actively operating in Fall 2022 at Kadir Has University will receive a Master's degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology from Kadir Has University.
There are 4 Professors, 4 Associate Professors and 4 Assistant Professors as the faculty members in the program. Program Director is Asst. Prof. M. Mustafa Çetin.
The field of Materials Science and Nanotechnology covers the discovery, production, characterization, modeling and end use of nanoscale materials. One of the most interesting and important details about nanotechnology is that the properties of materials can change when the scale of material sizes approaches the nanometer. Materials scientists work to understand and control these property changes and to find new applications for nanostructures of well-known materials. It is an interdisciplinary program in line with the nature of modern research.
In the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Master's program, a contemporary education that follows the current technologies is provided with the support of the projects carried out on Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Composites, Condensed Matter and Nanotechnology, Robotics and MEMS, Nanofabrication Technologies, Inorganic and Organic Semiconductors, Surfaces, Interfaces and Coatings, Photonics, Electronic & Electromagnetic Applications and Nano Devices, Micro Fluids, Micro Robotics and Sensors, Energy Harvesting and Storage, and Molecular Electronics subjects.
The main purpose of the Materials Science and Nanotechnology program is to fill the shortage of expert personnel who will work in the field of advanced technology material development and production, to teach its students about production technologies and to contribute to the development of nanotechnology. The program is also planned with the aim of raising young scientists, and offers the opportunity to work in smart materials, smart wearable applications, optical sensors and lasers, polymers, nanoelectronics, nanoscale imaging, biomedical nano/micro robots and many other innovative application areas within our university. One of the long-term goals of the program is to train talented graduates equipped with the latest knowledge of Materials Science and Nanotechnology. After graduation, our students will be able to interpret the current universal basic science and engineering issues within the field of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, and to analyze, design and solve the problems of the private and public sectors of Turkey that are directly related to such issues, and/or to conduct research and education in Turkish and world universities.
The field of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, which has a wide application potential, is an interdisciplinary field. With this feature, this field has applications in many fields from Synthetic Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry, Electronics and Computer Technologies to Aerospace Research, Medical Research to Environment, Energy, Biotechnology and Agriculture Research. By using the interdisciplinary feature of Materials Science and Nanotechnology in order to follow the developments in the world and to catch up with international standards, it will be easier to strengthen the interdisciplinary cooperation in this field.
The Teaching Language of the Materials Science and Nanotechnology program is English and students fulfill the program with their Master’s Thesis. The days and times of the courses in the program are adjusted according to the student’s schedule.
