PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
Global politics, especially after the 1990s, has evolved into a multi-actor and multi-layered structure, and the discipline of International Relations, which has increased in importance in the context of this structure, has expanded to include relatively new issues such as migration, gender, neocolonialism, financialization, climate crisis, local actors, discourse, apart from the traditional issues that are the focus of the discipline in the current period.
Beykoz University Institute of Graduate Programs Global Politics and International Relations English Master's program seeks to contribute to the study of crucial international and regional issues in Turkey as well as the neighbouring countries in today's global world.
In addition, the program is designed to attract the interest of both Turkish and foreign students besides academics with current issues such as migration, conflict resolution and peace building, the relationship between local, national and global politics. The fact that the language of instruction for the program remains English ensures that academic activities are carried out within the scope required by the discipline in this context while achieving an accessible standard for both students and the academic world.
Envisaged to have a vibrant nature, the program will organize academic and civic activities such as symposiums, research seminars and workshops are organized with civil society organizations in and outside Turkey.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates with a Master's degree in this field can work in ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance and Customs, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, local governments, various mass communication organizations and international banks, and can take part in the upper levels of the state bureaucracy such as the Undersecretariats of Treasury and Foreign Trade. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
Applications to the program will be accepted twice a year, for the fall and spring semesters, according to the calendar to be announced. All candidates who have graduated from an undergraduate program in the fields of social sciences and humanities, the equivalence of which is accepted by the Higher Education Council, can apply to the program by fulfilling the following requirements;
Since the language of instruction of the program is English, candidates applying to the program must have a valid exam result certifying their language proficiency. Applicants must have scored at least 60 points from YDS, YÖKDİL exams or an equivalent score (TOEFL: 72, PEARSON PTE ACADEMIC: 55) from an international foreign language exam accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM. Candidates who do not have a result from the aforementioned exams can take the Beykoz University English Proficiency Exam and those that score 60 points and above from this exam fulfill the language condition required to apply to the program.
Candidates applying to the Thesis Program must have at least 55 points in Equal Weight (EA) score type from the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES).
